Sell, Bid, Or Auction the Easy Way

Although Ebay has never been easier to use, many still feel intimidated by the aspect of buying or selling. By what they don't realize is, they are not actually intimidated by Ebay, but instead it is the internet that has them fearful.

Back in the day, Ebay was a lot more complex. It required you to enter your own html to make the lettering changed or different colors or to set up your page. Much time was spent on getting the html correct, and if you didn't you had to go back in and do it again until you got it correct. It was a very time consuming process and although Ebay did provide you with many of the html codes that you needed, there were many more that you needed to find if you wanted to keep up with the computer savvy sellers of Ebay.

As Ebay grew so did the complexity of the listing process, as then you needed to figure out the html to link some of your pages to others and how to link your website to Ebay. When all was said and done, you were exhausted, but you had your page exactly the way you wanted it.

Now in an attempt to draw a larger, less computer savvy group into Ebay, the listing process has become a lot more user friendly, with cute little buttons to push to make the fonts and colors change and to insert text links and other items as you go. It is set up to be very simple, and honestly very user friendly, but a bit boring. Listings are beginning to look more and more generic over time, with little variation in styles or colors of the listings.

This is both good and bad. On one hand it levels the playing field for those who are new to the process, but in the same breath it also wipes out any of the unique selling techniques formerly used. In any case, it is important to note that the Ebay selling system is really very user friendly and intended to be used by all. And even those who have not ever created a text link or used html, can do so with ease in this new system.
