Boosting Your Link Popularity

What Is Link Popularity?

If you are unfamiliar with this term, it means exactly what it sounds like it would. Your link popularity is the total amount of links from other sites that point to yours, also known as a backlink. You may have heard of the term backlink, the more back links you have the greater your link popularity.

Are All Backlinks Created Equal?

Backlinks are the only way to build your link popularity but receiving links from sites that are unrelated to yours won't do you much good. If you own a site about sports memorabilia and you trade a link with a site that deals with pet food don't expect much of a boost. When searching for backlinks your goal should be to find sites that would be indexed in the same category as your site on Google. Another tip in building your link popularity is using anchored text in your links to create an anchored link. An anchored link is a link that points to your site where your keywords are used in the text (the text that you click on). Backlinks from sites with higher page ranks count much more towards boosting your link popularity than sites with lower page ranks. This doesn't mean that you should be upset if a site with a PR of 0 links to you. Remember there are no bad backlinks, they just won't have as much of an effect on your link popularity.

Why Do You Want To Build Your Link Popularity?

There is a very simple answer to that question. Simply, the more backlinks you have the more likely you will be to climb up in Google's serps. We all know what this means, the higher up you are ranked the more pageviews your site will get. Whether you are in it for money or glory we all want the same thing, our sites and blogs to succeed.

This may seem like a lot of work to do, who knew building a website would be so hard. Don't give up and keep using SEO properly, you will see results over time.

Good Luck,

The SEO Blogger

Do ants scratch their asses, lets find out. I recently came across an article written a well known SEO guru. In this post he suggests that in order to be properly indexed by Google and ranked highly in the serps, you must use SEO properly. A key element of SEO is applying keywords. He also suggests that most of the more popular search strings are very crowed with sites and blogs much bigger than yours and that if you wanted to start a successful site you might want to try to rank it in a less cluttered niche. A niche, maybe like "do ants scratch their asses". He was using this purely as a humorous example of course. Never the less, bloggers have already begun climbing the serp ranks using the keywords do ants scratch their asses. I intend to prove that ants to scratch their asses by stealing the number one spot.

Below is the keyword density for the top ranking site for the search terms "do ants scratch their asses".

If keywords do make a dramatic difference in the way you rank, if use those keywords more densely, I should climb higher than in the ranks. As of the moment these are my top three keywords. Look at my posts keyword density.

Who knows if ants really do scratch their asses? Have you ever seen an ant scratch it's ass? If you wanted to could you ask an ant,"Do ants scratch their asses". If you studied ants how could you prove that ants scratch their asses? Even if you could prove that ants scratch there asses, maybe the question you should ask yourself is, does anyone really care if ants scratch their asses. Ask yourself, do you even care if ants scratch their asses. That is the point, no one does care if ants scratch their asses or not. This just proves that unless you use SEO properly you will never rank well, so start learning.
