Creating a search engine-friendly web site is essential to your business. When your web page is search engine-friendly, you will help it rank well for important keywords and improve its overall traffic. Here are some tips to begin with:

Don't make your web site solely on Flash technology. Flash technology will affect your search engine rankings. As an alternative, build a hybrid web site with ordinary text and a flash banner to make it more user-friendly.

Name your pages in a search engine-friendly way. A search engine-friendly URL looks like this: "your-service.html". However, there are some sites, especially e-commerce sites, that have URLs that look like this: "index.php/?id=11&product=1&cat=3". This type of URL does not make any sense to search engines and will affect the performance of your search engine optimization effort.

Tag your pages with vital keywords. Position important key phrases in the Title, Meta, H1, Alt tags of your pages. Consider this: a web site has key phrases that potential clients are looking for and there's no way it can get a high rank on search engines if those key phrases are missing.

Write related content. Related content will help you get high rankings on search engines. Search engines give what searchers are seeking. If search engines find that the content of your web site is not related to the keywords that you are using, your site won't stand out for those keywords.

Use clean coding. Keep coding of your site clean and simple. Make sure the file size of every page is smaller than 100KB so that search engine spiders can locate it easily.

Designing a SEO-friendly web site is very important for the growth of your business. Without this, it's impossible for your site to get targeted search engine traffic that will bring you sales.
