Some affiliates try to capitalize using written PLR articles from the many free content directories found online to get visitors to their website and make some fast money. This is mostly commonplace for those who have just begun working as an affiliate for the many assorted businesses online and do not yet have any funding, yet need to built small niche websites so as to to generate traffic to their site so that they can start making some money online.

Although it is understandable that this may be the only alternative somebody has, it is not the most suitable way to build a reputable website. For quite a few reasons, free content can genuinely be counterproductive to establishing a solid online business.

Problem #1 - Search Engines

The search engine spiders don't like duplicate written content. When more then one website uses the same written material it causes these websites to obtain a poor ranking.

Good search engine ratings are essential in getting visitors to your business site so that they have a chance to click on your affiliate links. To get traffic you need to know and understand some basic rules of SEO and stick with them to advance your rankings.

Problem #2 - Getting Visitors To Click On Your Buy Button Or Affiliate Links

Improving your ranking and getting traffic is not an easy job, though it is only half the battle you have to get your visitors to click on your links to buy your products. Your visitors are not dumb, if they get to your site and read subject matter they have seen in other locations they are going to be less inclined to use your links. There are two reasons for this: they want to be able to trust the person they are dealing with and they want to believe that person is an expert.

When you are employing the same content that other individuals are utilizing it takes away from your credibility. When people don't trust you, they do not want to click on the links or even consider what it is you are selling as an affiliate.

Problem #3 - The Resource Box At The End Of The Article Tells Your Visitors That You Are Not The Expert

When you use free content you have to observe the author's signature file or you can run into some problems. The majority of writers include links in their resource box at the bottom of the article. When a reader gets done reading a really fascinating written article, there is a good possibility that they will click on the author's signature file link instead of your affiliate links. This is the entire reason why these authors offer free written content to begin with, so that they may get their name and links out there to the world. When you employ free content you run the risk of missing out, since you can lose visitors that could off turned you a profit.

As soon as you put these three problems together, you are looking at a difficult decline in revenue simply because you employed free Internet site content from article directories. Though for a number of webmasters non-paying content may be the only alternative, if you have the money it is wise to invest what you have in unique content.

If you really do not have the funds, you may want to think about trying your own hand at re-creating the written content yourself and then hire a specialist once you establish a profit online.
