Never before has it been so excellent to be a film enthusiast. Back in the day the only way that you could even view a movie was to visit the theater. Later on, videos came out and you could get a videotape at the store but the movie that you wanted may have been out-of-stock and you still had to wait. You also needed to make sure that you avoided any late fees by making sure that you got the movie back to the store on time. Now you can get the movies by mail, but it is still a waiting game.

Basic - While things go askew throughout an armed forces work out, base captain Daly brings in Travolta, the best interrogator he ever had, to query the surviving members of the squad, whose stories don't add up. Actually a whodunit, this movie keeps us guessing, as a good conspiracy should. Cast includes John Travolta, Connie Nielsen, Samuel L. Jackson, Giovanni Ribisi, Tim Daly, Roselyn Sanchez, and Harry Connick. (2003 minutes,'95)

Above the Law - This is Steven Segal's breakout motion picture. He plays a Chicago Cop who takes matters into his own hands. As the title implies, he is 'above the law'. He uses his large body and martial arts skills to wreak destruction on the bad guys. Stars include Steven Segal, Pam Grier, and Sharon Stone. (1988 Action)

Mysterious Lady - An Austrian armed forces officer (Nagel) falls in love with Garbo, naive that she is a Russian agent. Another unnatural plot made serviceable by Garbo herself. Cast includes Greta Garbo, Conrad Nagel, Gustav von Seyffertitz, Albert Pollet, and Edward Connelly. (96 minutes,'28)

The Accidental Tourist - This film tells the narrative of Macon Leary, who is listless after the death of his son. This is compounded more when his wife decides to leave him because he will not snap out of it. With a divorce awaiting he finds himself involved with a new woman, who is helping bring him back to life. Now his wife decides to have him back, and he is faced with more difficult questions. William Hurt, Kathleen Turner, Geena Davis, Amy Wright, and Bill Pullman star. (1988 Drama)

The Night of the Iguana - Trudging tale based on Tennessee Williams play. Recovered alcoholic clergyman Burton, a bus-journey guide in Mexico, becomes involved with Kerr, Gardner, and Lyon. Dorothy Jeakins won an Oscar for her costumes. Cast includes Richard Burton, Deborah Kerr, Ava Gardner, Sue Lyon, Skip Ward, Grayson Chamber, and Cyril Delevanti. (118 minutes,'64)

Inferno - American returns to N.Y. from school in Rome to explore the hideous death of his sibling, and finds "sinister moms" causing paranormal mayhem on both sides of Atlantic. Surreal, spellbinding shocker by Italian terror maestro Argento does not make much sense, but it has a lot of style. Cast includes Leigh McCloskey, Irene Marvel, Sacha Pitoeff, Daria Nicolodi, Eleonora Giorgi, Veronica Lazar, and Alida Valli. (107 minutes,'84)

Shop around at the countless sites before you start to download movies. Make sure that they offer everything that you want. If you need to burn the film onto a Compact disk so you can watch it in the luxury of your living room from your TV, make sure that choice is obtainable.
